This WWII U.S. Army Fort Dix T shirt is a reproduction of an original WWII PT shirt from a photograph.  This WWII U. S. Army PT Shirt has Fort Dix New Jersey on the front with the Army Eagle design.

In 1917, Camp Dix was established.  It was renamed to Fort Dix in 1939.  During WWII the post was an induction center and training installation.  Ten divisions and many smaller units were stationed at Fort Dix prior to entering the battlefields of World War II.  After the war, the post became a separation center for some 1.2 million soldiers returning to civilian life.

During WWII, athletic style tshirts were available for purchase at the PX and were commonly used in training and athletic situations. PT shirts with a variety of different unit logos are well documented in many WWII photographs.
