This style belt was used by most service branches with their khaki uniforms. Traditionally, the open-faced buckles were for enlisted personnel, while the web belts with brass buckles were for officers.
Note: Although the pistol belt is sometimes called a web belt, that’s not its name. Its technical designation is the M1936 pistol belt.
