Description

This WWI Camel Cigarette Carton is a reproduction from an original WWI Camel Carton in our collection.  The Camel Carton is empty and contains no tobacco products.

We faithfully reproduced the WWI style Camel box, which, unlike its WWII carton counterpart is a 2 part box, top and bottom box. The Ad, from 1915, shows the WWI Camel box in its two parts.

Introduced in 1913, Camel was the first national cigarette brand.  By 1917, Camels dominated the cigarette marketplace, just in time for the US Army to begin providing a cigarette ration to its soldiers.
