This WWII AAF T shirt is a reproduction of an original WWII PT shirt from a photograph. This WWII T Shirt has U.S. Army Air Forces on the front with the Winged Star insignia.
The Winged Star was designed by Mr. James T. Rawls. After General Arnold rejected many designs, Rawls saw a picture of Winston Churchill giving the well-know “V for Victory” sign. Rawls made a quick sketch and the rest is history. The Winged Star is often called the “Hap Arnold” Wings in honor of General Henry “Hap” Arnold, commander of the AAF during WWII.
During WWII, athletic style tshirts were available for purchase at the PX and were commonly used in training and athletic situations. PT shirts with a variety of different unit logos are well documented in many WWII photographs.
This replica WWII t-shirt is screened by hand and variation in colors naturally occur. Our WWII Reproduction tee shirts have h a spec tag screened inside the neck.
