America First was a slogan used by Americans that were isolationists in nature who did not want America to enter the war in Europe.  An America First Committee was formed by a Yale Law School Student in September of 1940 and was one of the largest anti-war organizations in America.  At its peak, it had 800,000 dues paying members.  The America First Committee was disbanded 3 days after the attack at Pearl Harbor.
