This WWII Hershey Tropical 1 ounce Chocolate Mold is made of modern food safe material, PETG. With this mold, you can make your own 1 ounce Tropical Chocolate Bars.
We copied an original Tropical chocolate bar in our collection to create an identical clay model, which we then used to make our molds. Unfortunately, since the actual production of the chocolate is responsible for its heat-resistance properties, there’s not a simple recipe for reproducing the exact melt-resistant WWII bar. However, there are several chocolate bar recipes on the internet. Obviously, for best results, you’ll want to use Hershey’s cocoa powder.
Tropical chocolate bars were made of a melt-resistant chocolate that would work in warmer climates. Some tropical chocolate bars appear as the sugar portion in K-rations, as well as loose bars. Hershey engineered its tropical chocolate bar to melt at a whopping 120 degrees. Normally the melting point for chocolate is around 93 degrees. Mars responded with their own version, a Torrid bar.
We also carry labels and Hershey’s tropical chocolate master boxes so that you can make enough Hershey tropical chocolate bars for your whole squad.
