WWII Malted Milk-Dextrose Box reproduction package is for display purposes only. The Box is empty and contains no food products. The WW2 Malted Milk Dextrose and Dextrose Tablets were used in several rations. This package specifically designates these for K-ration use.
There are several variations of Malted Milk and Dextrose tablet packaging. This is an early, longer version. These long boxes protruded beyond the crackers and often puncturered through the cellophane. In later versions of K-rations and other emergency rations, the dextrose tablet box was reduced in size to better fit in the cellophane biscuit component. We don’t know why this packaging from Curtiss Candy appears in almost identical K-ration and non-K-ration marked versions. It’s possible that these were contracted before the malted milk and dextrose tablets were inserted into the bailout and other rations.
