The WWII Remember Pearl Harbor Towel is a reproduction and is made of 100% cotton. It’s part of our homefront kitchen collection that features artwork from original iron-on transfers.
No original transfers were destroyed in the making of these towels.
We found several original 1940s iron-ons that were sold to decorate textiles and garments at home. They come with simple how-to directions but don’t give any clues to their intended use. They were most likely targeted towards women to spruce up handmade items and children’s clothing. While the transfers themselves pop up from time to time, we have yet to find a textile or garment decorated with these transfers.
