The WWII Spitfire Fund Pin Back Button is a reproduction from an original WWII pin. This Spitfire Fund Pin is approximately 1 1/4 inches in diameter.
The Spitfire was loved by the British during WWII. Press coverage promoted getting more planes in the air and Spitfire Funds were set up across the nation. The Spitfire Funds were more than just national pride, the contributors could have the plane marked with their dedication. A commemorative plaque and photograph of the Spitfire would be sent. The contributors were towns, businesses, kennel clubs, circuses and you name the group. One plane was named “Dorothy of Great Briain and Empire”, and was funded by a group made up entirely of women and girls named Dorothy.
All of our replica pinbacks are made in the U.S.A. and are authentic copies of original WW2 propaganda buttons.
